Koh Kong Province Overview
Development Goals
Koh Kong Province is poised to become a hub for green economy and sustainable development, with a strategic focus on cross-border trade, coastal tourism, and eco-industries. Anchored by key infrastructure like Dara Sakor Airport, Koh Kong Port, and the Neang Kok SEZ, the province’s “Two Cores, Four Development Paths” spatial framework supports its vision to grow into a regional leader in eco-tourism, carbon trading, and green energy.
Priority Industries
Koh Kong is emerging as a strategic destination for sustainable investment. From world-class eco-tourism anchored by Dara Sakor and national parks, to expanding green energy with hydropower and solar, the province is built for future-forward growth. Its border with Thailand supports cross-border manufacturing via SEZs and bonded zones, while rich natural resources drive agro-processing and a growing carbon trading market. With strong infrastructure and regional access, Koh Kong offers unmatched potential for forward-thinking investors.
Key Priority Projects
Koh Kong’s 29 priority projects position it as a climate-resilient gateway for trade, tourism and green development. Key investments include enhanced coastal roads and port linkages, a new Health and Emergency Response Center, and a Smart Green Urban Spine for Khemarak Phoumin. Anchored by the Peam Krasaop and Botum Sakor Ecological Belt, these projects strengthen connectivity, health resilience, and environmental protection, unlocking Koh Kong’s potential as a sustainable coastal and logistics hub.
Incentive and Scheme
As part of the Coastal Master Plan, the Koh Kong investment is eligible for incentives under the Law on Investment of the Kingdom of Cambodia, aimed at encouraging private sector participation and fostering sustainable economic growth in the region.
