Key Priority Projects

As part of the Master Plan to Develop Cambodia Coastal Provinces, which will be implemented over the next 15 years, Kampot Province has 29 provincial development projects, and an additional 14 joint development projects with the three other provinces including Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong and Kep. These joint projects aim to ensure that the four provinces can establish an interconnected and complementary economic system that functions smoothly and effectively.

Kampot’s 29 priority projects support its transformation into a healthy, green riverfront city. A new Health and Nutrition Hub will expand care for vulnerable groups, while climate-resilient waste, drainage, and mobility systems manage growth and boost sustainability. Riverbank restoration and eco-parks enhance flood resilience and livability, positioning Kampot as a model for inclusive, eco-friendly urban development.

Social Infrastructure

The 8 Social Infrastructure priority projects in Kampot aim to develop a Provincial Health and Nutrition Service Hub to improve access to healthcare, especially for underserved communities. Offering maternal care, nutrition, and preventive services, the hub also coordinates outreach and emergency response. It strengthens primary health systems and supports Kampot’s social resilience goals.

6
Municipal Infrastructure

The 6 Municipal Infrastructure priority projects in Kampot aim to build a Climate-Resilient Waste and Drainage System to manage urban growth and environmental risks. The project upgrades waste collection, expands drainage, and uses nature-based solutions like bioswales. It also promotes recycling and public awareness, strengthening Kampot’s flood resilience and sustainable urban management.

6
Transportation

The 6 Transportation priority projects in Kampot aim to develop a Green Mobility and Riverfront Access Corridor to improve connectivity and promote sustainable tourism. Key features include pedestrian paths, bike lanes, and climate-resilient roads with green infrastructure. The project enhances walkability and supports Kampot’s vision as an eco-friendly, accessible city.

4
Ecology

The 4 Ecology priority projects in Kampot aim to create a Green Buffer and River Ecology Zone along the Praek Tuek Chhu River to manage floods, protect natural landscapes and enhance the city’s green identity. The project includes riverbank restoration, eco-parks, and climate-resilient land use, supporting Kampot’s growth as a livable, sustainable riverfront city.
