Agro-Processing and Agriculture
Agro-Processing and Agriculture is a key industrial priority in the Cambodia coastal master plan, Preah Sihanouk Province is set to become the central hub for fine processing and trade of agro-products, leveraging its deep-sea port, industrial zones and export infrastructure. Supporting this, Koh Kong and Kampot will serve as key cultivation and primary processing zones. Kep Province contributes both as a source of agricultural inputs acting as a supplier of raw materials and a local market for processed goods. Ultimately, the four provinces will form a complete Agro-Processing and Agriculture product supply chain involving the cultivation, transit, rough processing, fine processing and trading of agro-products from Cambodia to the global market.
Strengths: Coastal provinces have abundant agricultural raw materials with the potential to link with the "Fish and Rice Corridor" for material sourcing. The ample port resources facilitate rapid export of agro-products.
Opportunities: Under the FTAs to which Cambodia is part, including the RCEP and other bilateral FTAs, preferential tariff policies provide more opportunities for some agricultural product exports. Potential trade preference policies from Cambodia will also further promote foreign investment in the agro-processing sector.
