Tourism Opportunities
There are a total of 71 islands in the Cambodia coastal provinces. Among them, selected islands such as Koh Tonsay, Koh Ses, Koh Rong, Koh Rong Sanloem, Koh Sdach and numerous islands in Koh Kong province are set to be jointly developed as an island-hopping tourism and marine biodiversity belt. These islands will be transformed into premier destinations offering world-class leisure and vacation experiences, thoughtfully designed to captivate and cater to international travelers.
Strengths: Abundant tourism ecological resources, basic tourism infrastructure such as several star-rated hotels have been established in coastal provinces. Rich coastline and island resources, as well as the abundant cultural heritage and tourism hotspots, further enhance the attractiveness of coastal provinces.
Opportunities: In the post-pandemic era, eco-tourism and nature-related tourism are gaining more popularity. The coastal provinces have rich ecological resources that are well-preserved. Additionally, emerging source countries of international tourists (such as China and India) are increasingly interested in Cambodian tourism. Now is the time for forward-looking investors to secure a first-mover advantage by investing in tourism infrastructure along one of Southeast Asia’s most promising coastal corridors.
